1. Both history and prophecy point to secular people subscribing to the idea of God coming to earth with signs of power and demands of religious worship (Acts 14:8-13; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-9)

2. the agenda for God coming to the earth including:
A. Helping humanity understand more fully who God is in character: full of grace and truth (John 1:14,17)
B. To provide a substitute penalty for our sin (John 1:16; Romans 5:8)
C. To become the model for how we are to live on the earth toward God and others (Philippians 2:4, 1 John 2:6)
D. To become a help for Christians in times of temptation (Hebrews 4:15,16; Romans 6:12)
