Lessons
1. According to the stories of Zaccheus and the Crucifixion thief, there are three necessary components needed for Jesus to declare someone a Christian:
A. Confession – a disclosure to Jesus of one’s past rap sheet of wrongdoing (e.g. in prayer)(Luke 19:8;23:40,41)
B. Repentance – leaving one’s old way of living behind and replacing it with the way of Jesus (Luke 19:8; 23:40-42)
C. Belief – Personally trusting in the nature and person of Jesus Christ (Luke 19:6,8; 23:40-42)
