Replacement Brands of Christianity Pt. 4

Lessons

  1. The charismatic experience with God is neither a replacement for genuine Christianity (1 Corinthians 13:1,2; Matthew 7:2,23), not an indication of one’s spiritual temperature (1 Corinthians 1:7 & 3:1)
  2. False prophecy is when one believes God is communicating something to or through them, when in actuality it is their own heart declaring or hoping for favorable circumstances (Ezekiel 13:1-6,10, Jeremiah 23:16,17,26, 1 Kings 22:5-8, 13, 24)
  3. Christian identity is based on the evaluation of one’s lifestyle in loving God and others, not the practice of spiritual disciplines, adherence to Christian ceremonies, the rejection of potentially dangerous practices, or the participation in the experiential charismatic gift realm (see last 5 sermon Scripture references )
