September Important Dates & Events

Good Morning Church Family,

We have arrived at the season of a new school year, fall programs and a final push to enjoy the nice weather. There will be more specific details coming on some of the upcoming events I am going to mention here but I want to give you a snapshot of what the next couple of months will look like at Pineridge House Church.

September 2:
7:30-9:30pm
Church wide pool party at Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool.
2310 6 Street NW
The fee is being covered by the church so please come and enjoy!

Sunday, September 3
We are still hunting for a new building to call home but there have been some good leads and so we continue to be hopeful that we will have an indoor space to meet in the near future. In the meantime, this Sunday, September 3, we will continue to meet in the Jansen’s backyard.

September 7-10
Men’s Houseboat Retreat
This is a yearly event for men ages 13 and up to take 4 days to gather together in Sicamous, get on a houseboat and focus on learning more about God, stretching their understanding of the Bible and how they can apply it to their lives. This intentional time helps them build friendships in the church, ask those hard life/Biblical questions, deepen their relationship with Christ and have some fun swimming and jumping off the houseboat. If you aren’t going this year but want to find out more information for next year please talk to Dan Jansen or myself.

Sunday, September 10
Due to the fact that the men are on the houseboat there will be a sermon posted on the website, www.pineridgehouse.com for the rest of us to access and listen to at home. We will NOT be meeting together as a church this Sunday.

Berean Groups

You may have heard this term mentioned in our church and not been really sure what it means. ‘Berean’ is in reference to the people of Berea in Acts. Acts 17:11 describes them as being “more nobel-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”

The goal with Berean groups in our church is to gather weekly in smaller groups of 4-10, to deeply and intentionally study through a book of the Bible so we can be like those in Berea, striving to understand what the Bible says for ourselves. This requires the commitment of a weekly meeting as well as intentional preparation for each week. We have found that the dynamic of each group works better when it is either just women or just men. The questions become more honest and applications become more applicable to everyone in the group this way. If you are interested in joining a group please contact Dan, or myself.

Ladies Retreat
October 14
A day retreat for women ages 13 and up where we will meet to enjoy wonderful food, Biblical teaching and personal study time and the space to connect with other women in the church and deepen those relationships.

Stay tuned for more information and a registration form and we hope to see all of the women there.

Parenting Study – last Thursday of the month
This is a study that Dan hosts once a month to teach about Biblical parenting. This is open to anyone with kids, as well as those without, who want to understand the benefits and practical ways of parenting the way God intended.

Thursday, September 28 – 7:30 – 9pm
Thursday, October 26: 7:30 – 9pm
Thursday, November 23: 7:30 – 9pm
Dan’s House:
151 Pinegrove Close NE

Thursday Night Bible Study – biweekly

This is a Bible study open to everyone in the church and is a time you can bring your questions about how to handle situations in your life from a Biblical perspective. A question about work, marriage, relationships, etc and the group will study a selected passage from the Bible to discover applicable ways to answer that question. This is a great place to learn how to study the Bible on your own.

Stay tuned for more information on dates, location and time.

Ladies with Littles Bible Study – biweekly

This is a Bible study open to all women in the church but with the focus on those with smaller children. Most of the study and discussion will be focused on the role of wife and mother as we raise our children according to the Bible.

Stay tuned for more information on dates, location and time.

Young Adults Bible Study – biweekly

This Bible study follows a very similar style to the Thursday night Bible study but the questions and discussion will be focused more so around those in high school and university striving to live in a godly manner.

Stay tuned for more information on dates, location and time.

We look forward to a full fall and winter of study and growth and we hope that everyone can find a way to participate. If you have any questions or are interested in more information on a group please let me know.
